During the World Health Assembly (22-31 May 2017, Geneva), IFPA, as part of the delegation of the IAPO, submitted a statement on Agenda Item 15.1 – Preparation for the third High-level Meeting of the General Assembly on the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases, to be held in 2018.

The statement focuses on the following key points:

  • Endorsing  the newly updated Appendix III and encourages Member States to follow through with the implementation of the suggested interventions
  • Welcoming the orientation to look beyond cost-effectiveness and into other criteria when choosing the interventions
  • Strengthening Appendix III with the recommendations listed in the WHO Global Report on Psoriasis from 2016
  • Calling for additional areas of research to be identified by the WHO, that could support the further implementation of Appendix III
