26 May 2014 – 67th World Health Assembly recognizes psoriasis as a serious non-communicable disease

In a historic moment for the global psoriasis community, a first-ever WHO Resolution on Psoriasis is adopted by the World Health Assembly. The Resolution officially acknowledges that psoriasis is a “a chronic, non-communicable, painful, disfiguring, and disabling disease for which there is no cure.” It also highlights the psychosocial burden of the disease, the lack of psoriasis awareness in society and the insufficient access to treatment that many patients face.
