IFPA advocates for greater patient involvement in medical research and medicines research and development (R&D), to improve discovery, development, and evaluation through the identification of unmet needs and research priorities.
Furthermore, IFPA strongly encourages early patient engagement in clinical trials from trial design, clinical journey and patient reported outcomes. IFPA support in patient engagement and collaborate in joint projects with study organizers in which the patients’ perspectives and wellbeing is at the forefront. Through a collaboration model and working closely with informed patients and IFPA members, study organizers can better understand patients concerns and are better equipped to support them in their research projects and in the clinical trial journey.
