EUROPSO is a registered, democratically governed non-profit-making organisation currently representing 21 organisation from 20 countries from across Europe, whose mutual goal is to drive psoriatic disease prevention, treatment and research up the European political and public agenda, and improve understanding of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis through education. EUROPSO was formed in November 1988 as an umbrella organisation operating within Europe.

Project: Developing EUROPSO Wellness Program for Individuals Living with Generalized Pustular Psoriasis (GPP) to Improve Overall Well-being

Project Description: The project aims to develop a wellness program for individuals living with Generalized Pustular Psoriasis (GPP) to enhance their overall well-being. GPP is a severe form of psoriasis, and individuals with GPP often face difficulties in receiving timely diagnosis and treatment, navigating the healthcare system, and maintaining well-being. The project has received a grant of 10,000 EUR.

This project will be realised in four phases, aimed to develop “EUROPSO GPP wellness program”. The Program will be comprised in three modules, that can help individuals living with GPP to manage their symptoms, improve their health outcomes, and enhance their quality of life.

Reach: EUROPSO’s main strength is our network of national organisations in 20 European countries, through which we can disseminate the program developed in this project, making it available for a broad audience of patients, healthcare professionals and providers. Once piloted, we plan to make the Program available in all countries where we have a member organisation.

Impact: The Project is aimed to impact the GPP patients directly through content specifically designed to enhance the level of their physical activity, adhere to healthy eating habits and manage stress. Indirectly, the Project will have impact on all involved parties, such as HCPs and healthcare providers, who would get more knowledge about GPP patients’ needs.

Collaboration: The Project will be realised through collaboration with:

  • healthcare providers and patient advocacy groups to identify best practices for implementing wellness programs for individuals living with GPP.
  • healthcare professionals to produce a publishing paper about this program in an academic journal.
  • patient organisations, EUROPSO members, for communication and dissemination of the Program.

The project will involve:

  • One research (survey and desk research): Conducting a needs assessment to identify the physical, mental, and emotional challenges experienced by individuals living with GPP.
  • Developing wellness program that incorporate physical activity, stress management, and healthy eating habits that are tailored to the unique needs of individuals living with GPP.
  • 20+ meeting opportunities: Collaborating with healthcare providers and patient advocacy groups to identify best practices for implementing wellness programs for individuals living with GPP.
  • One educational event (8 attendees): Piloting the wellness program in Slovenia, with a group of international individuals living with GPP and evaluating their effectiveness in improving overall well-being.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals to produce a publishing paper about this program in an academic journal.
  • Number of people reached- 1.000+ persons: Disseminating the wellness program materials in several European languages through EUROPSO members’ network to healthcare providers, patient advocacy groups, and individuals living with GPP in countries where EUROPSO has representation to increase awareness and encourage participation.
  • Producing video materials about the program (a triptych: GPP & physical activity, stress management and healthy eating habits)
